Hyderabad Dum Biryani

Name “Hyderabad” in name of this place is truly honored by having one of the best Biriyani in US, not just Bay Area. The quality of ingredients used in their cooking are of utmost quality. And they always greet you enthusiasm and nice smile!I haven’t tried other items in Menu. However, for Biriyani lover, this is the place.

Good entrees and naan. Very small dine in area. Good for take outs.

The chicken and mutton dum biryanis taste sooooo good! Not so dry and fill of flavors. The chicken one had huge chicken pieces and the chicken wasnt dry and the mutton was cooked properly and was full of flavor.

It was our first time here, it's a small place with 3-4 tables. The staff was friendly. We ordered the mutton biryani and butter chicken. For people who enjoy spicy food this place is really great! The mutton was soft and flavorful. I really like the butter chicken though it was more spicy than ones I've had. The chicken was really tender (which most other places used lean chicken so the chicken was dry) -- and the sauce was super creamy. Oh and the mango lassi was great too -- more tangy than sweet mango flavor. Will definitely come back.

Such a worst experience with service. We ordered a delivery for two consecutive days and two days the orders were wrong both the times. Ordered mutton biryani and got a chicken biryani. When complained they said we are closed and cannot do any thing. The taste was initially good but now it’s changed a lot. No proper communication and also no rightful service. The quantities also got reduced than earlier. If we order a tray then we are literally screwed.... Never expected this.....

Amazing Biryani, the spices are on point and the taste is pretty authentic. I'd recommend it as a take-out place because it is pretty tiny and the ambiance isn't that great to dine-in. You will see people coming in and leaving with their orders all the time. I'd recommend ordering online and picking up later.All in all, really good food and well worth the wait if you forget to order online ;)

The consistency of goat biriyani remarkable. The staffs are accommodating and friendly. Prices are reasonable. I love this place and I come here often for the biriyani.

Food was great, spice level was perfect. Good place to have it to go and then eat it comfortably at home. We went there directly and ordered for to go but the wait was more than expected. I would recommend to order online and then pick it up so that you don't have to wait there for long time.

The curry at this place is very good and reasonably priced. Try the tikka masala. It's probably the best.

Firstly, am treating this as a take out joint. It's not a place where you would want to sit down and eat. Now when it comes to food, the two dishes that I tried, Fish Apollo (I still don't know why it's named so) and the Chicken Biryani (I asked for spicy), it was good, flavorful but it doesn't wow you. The biryani for instance, if you take the 3 key components, 1 )The rice - was cooked impeccably 2) The meat - certainly spicy and while it did have some flavor, it was more spicy than flavorful, 3) The Raitha - Absolutely water-ish. Would I have the biryani, sure but would avoid the Raitha.

First time trying Indian food, and I was surprised it was good. I ordered Hyderabadi chicken dim biryani and mango lassi, both of them were impressed. Heard of that the best is boneless chicken dim biryani, but it only serve on weekends.

Nice biryanis. Stick to chicken biryani. Goat biryani is not that great. Avoid curries here as they put too much artificial colors. 4 stars is for biryani mainly.

Very tasty and authentic food. The portions of meat are somewhat small but worth the price. The flavors are great and you can tell the food is made with love. Favorite dishes are chicken biryani, chicken 65, cauliflower 65 and tandoori chicken.

We ordered the tandoori chicken, egg biryani and kadhai paneer. Besides the biryani, these guys are clearly clueless how to make the other dishes. The tandoori chicken was the worst. It was made with BARBEQUE SAUCE!! Who makes tandoori with barbecue sauce?? It smelled and tasted so terrible that I had to throw the entire entree out. Kadhai paneer was next level of spicy, when we didn't even mention the spice level. It tasted like mirchi ka salan, than kadhai paneer. I can't believe we wasted $50 on this restaurant.

Very good and fresh. Very nice serving. Small place. But hot food. Authentic Hyderabad Dum biriyani as I come from that place.

This place is a great find! I tagged along with my non- vegetarian friends ( I am a vegetarian 😊) to this place since this is their favorite go-to places. To my surprise, this restaurant holds some of the yummiest veg items as well. Their garlic naans were the softest, their Makai koafta was too good , right amount of spices, one of the best that I had eaten in a long time ( usually at other places, either the curry is too sweet or bland). Their Gobi Manchurian was also great, fresh and crunchy.I went back to this place, ordered take outs for eggplant curry, palak pakora and veg biryani. Oh! And before I forget, their double ka meetha was out of the world, I haven’t had such yummy one even in Hyderabad to be very honest!!I wanted to leave this review because every time I try to order a new dish from here, it has been very satisfying.

Worst biryani in Bay Area. I recently ordered for a chicken biryani and egg biryani. Rice was so dry and it was like on rice just added some chicken pieces and for egg biryani added some egg. It didn’t even look like dum biryani, rice was colorful. Not worth it.

This place is a gem, chicken dum biryani was delicious, everything is cooked perfectly and coming to the dessert , i ordered Double ka Meetha and OMG, hands down, the best, you can taste the freshness, YUMMY!!!!

I ordered Chicken Chetinad. Chicken quantity was bad. Taste was just fine. Not great. I just gave 3 rating because biriyani was good which I had only once.

Visited this place recently, a small place with few tables. Ordered boneless chicken Biryani. It was really fresh and very tasty. With right amount of spiciness. Biryani is on par with other popular Biryani places in bay area. Definitely place to visit if you are a Biryani fan.

I would give 5 star to this restaurant because they serve tender/soft goat curry which is very hard to find in Bay Area and also try their kofta curry..

Edited - felt very gassy for the whole day after the biryani. Curry seemed good though. Go to pista house or paradise or BiryaniZ for the biryani and come here for the chicken curry maybe.------------------------The food is yum. More of a take out place than a dine in place.

Tasty but a bit too spicy for non-indian taste. They dont ask for the level of spice when you order.

We ordered mutton biryani and chicken 65. The chicken was alright, but the mutton was so awful!! So hard, so chewy, just horrible. We told the staff about it but they couldn't care less!!

HDB (Hyderabad Dum Biryani) has a very authentic Hyderabad taste not only limited to Biryani, but also to appetizers and Sweets. We had Apollo Fish as a starter and it was really delicious. Then we had both Chicken and Mutton Biryani, both were great, especially I liked Mutton Biryani a lot. Then we ordered Double ka Meetha, which was by the date the best Indian sweet I ate in the USA. I recommend this restaurant for people who are trying to get a taste of some Hyderabadi dishes.

Decent biryani, Lot of meat barely enough flavor !Well the thing is if your forte is biryani, you are competing with every second indian shop in bay area and I’m going to rate you rationally.Don’t drink the tea — worst tea ever (smelled and tasted of garlic)Raita is weak, tons of onion and meat, quality of rice is good but the flavor of dum is not there.But still decent place to get a biryani and yeah whats up with all the compact car parking, a mazda 3 can even barely fit in them.

Affordable food, good service. Spices are too strong, salt was less, veggies were mushy and gravies and bread were all of a similar fkavor profile.

Wow... I loved the gobi manchurian at this place. The spice combo that was used along with the slight crispness of gobi opened up all my taste buds. Loved it!! Pass on my kudos to the chef for making it worth the trip.

Food looks appetizing and tastes as delicious as it looks. I ve been here when I was on a visit for a couple of weeks and could mark it as my favourite and I didn't miss Hyderabad for food. Both chicken and mutton Biryani are perfectly cooked and taste best. Apollo fish is also one of the bests. Staff is friendly and though the place is small it's kept very clean. Will look forward to visiting again

After the first time I came here, I couldn't stop coming. I come here almost every weekend. The food here is great. It has a good spice level and has a decent amount of masala. Not too much masala and not too less. Everything here is extremely flavorful. I can eat meat, but I tried their Gobi 65 and now I am in love with it. I order it every time I come here. If you can eat non-veg foods, I would recommend the Chicken 65/Gobi 65, a Garlic Naan, and the Hyderabadi Mutton Curry. The only con about this place in my opinion is the amount of seating. There are only 6 tables inside and 2 tables outside. Usually these are filled up and you need to wait a few minutes if you want a table inside.

I highly recommend this restaurant and the staff is great. It had a clean interior and a couple of tables outside to sit and enjoy your food. If you are looking for something spicy this should be your go to biryani spot. Plus it has reasonable prices. In summary COME GET SOME FOOD BIRYANI NOW!!!!!

Great place for takeout. Not many comfortable seats for dine in.

Don’t be deceived by the looks of this restaurant. Small place. Excellent food. Have been eating at this place for 4-5 years, every time they served great food and continues to serve awesome food.

Biryani okay, But chicken pakoda not at all good. Taste okay.
